DOL Targets Restaurants for FLSA Investigations

The U.S. Department of Labor - Wage & Hour Division (DOL) continues to target the restaurant industry for investigations into violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act's (FLSA) minimum wage and overtime requirements.  Commonly cited issues found during investigations include improper recordkeeping, failure to pay overtime wages to employees improperly categorized as "exempt" and improper deductions for uniforms.  See recent DOL Press Release
